I’m kind of upset about the amount of shade Mercedes Jones gets from the writers as well as fans. She can’t catch a fucking break. She barely gets any story lines and when she does, it’s always about her trying to out diva Rachel (please stop with this bullshit writers of Glee) or it’s extremely underdeveloped. I was honestly looking for more Samcedes other than a meaningful glance and a holding of hands. Now they’ve paired her up with a guy who looks like he runs trains on food buffets. Ok, that was mean. I’m sort of not really sorry about that. But seriously, can they play up the stereotypical fat black girl trope anymore?
I definitely want to catch Revenge; the billboards alone captivated me. Whitney…I keep hearing it’s HORRIBLE. Unanimous. Why do studios do this to themselves?! Ps have you seen Contagion? I want to see it but heard it blows ass.
Revenge isn’t great but it’s ok. I’ll compare it to wanting Johnny Depp for a role but settling for Skeet Ulrich. There isn’t much on Wednesdays at 10 so settling for Revenge is cool.
Whitney is absolutely terrible. Like, I can’t express how bad it is. Outsourced is slightly better than Whitney and Outsourced was bad.
Contagion is the movie with Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow, right? I haven’t been to the movies in a few weeks—the last one I saw was Our Idiot Brother (which was pretty okay surprisingly)—but I don’t think I can handle a film where the lead actors are bland and beige as hell.
It’s two in the morning and I can’t sleep so I’m taking a break from creeping on Year of the Fox and going to share my opinions on a few of the new shows I’ve been watching.
This show has promise. Zooey Deschanel is actually pretty funny and does a good job as Jess, a girl who caught her boyfriend cheating on her and moved in with three guys she found on Craigslist. But if it were real life, I’m pretty sure the guys would tire of Jess’ quirkiness even if she was hot.
Three stars for New Girl ***
Starring Kat Dennings in a ill-fitting ketchup and mustard colored polyester waitress uniform and Some Blonde Chick with a bad weave and a big nose. The show is about Max Black (Dennings), a waitress who moonlights as a nanny for a celebrity in Manhattan and The Blonde Chick, a down on her luck former rich girl who now works as a waitress with Max. They are both broke bitches (and roommates) who are trying to save $250k to open a cupcake shop with Max’s magically delicious cupcakes (despite being complete strangers before their chance encounter). One’s perky and the other’s sarcastic. Hijinks ensue.
This show gets a “meh.” I’ll keep watching—maybe—to see what happens.
Revenge fills my drama quotient for the season. It’s about Amanda Clarke, a girl who moves back to the Hamptons to get revenge on those who are responsible for the death of her father. She’s posing as Emily Thorne, a new girl in town. No one knows her and are completely interested in the new comer DESPITE THE FACT “EMILY” LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME AS AMANDA. There’s no way in hell the adults can’t put two and two together.
Revenge gets a “lol”
This is about bunnies at The Playboy Club in Chicago. There’s a lesbian one, a married one, a black one, an old one, Jennifer Lewis, and the young stupid-ass one named Maureen. There’s also this dude, Nick Dalton, that’s trying his best to Don Draper. I don’t know why I watched two episodes of this bullshit. It’s supposed to be about murder and female empowerment (which, I don’t get that part at all) but it’s so poorly acted that it’s just fucking stupid. Amber Heard is a young January Jones.
The Playboy Club gets “Britney, why the fuck do you do this to yourself?”
Pan Am is cool, I guess. It didn’t wow me as much as I thought it should but I may watch another episode to see where it goes. I kind of think they could’ve done without the spy storyline.
Two stars for Pan Am **
The show centers on a couple who struggle to balance their home lives (especially with their newborn child, Amy) and their work lives. YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS SHOW RIGHT NOW. FUCKING GO WATCH IT ON DEMAND. FIND IT ON HULU OR TORRENT IT. JUST DO IT NOW. I want people to watch it so it doesn’t get canceled. It’s good. Will Arnett and Christina Applegate are hilarious as new parents. I will post a clip and ask you to go watch the show for the context.
Suburgatory was pretty damn funny too. It has a lot of potential. I recommend it.
BURN IT WITH FIRE. This show is fucking terrible. Whitney Cummings isn’t funny and the laugh track is annoying. Bieberhole69/Stoney McBonghit/Chris D’Elia, get out while you can. If God answers prayers, this show will be canceled soon.
