Another misfits thought. If they're going to bring up Alisha's "past" then they should probably address the fact that Simon's past includes pissing out a fire and eating pizza with a frozen dead woman.
I refer to the episode as Rudy’s Box-o-Feelings and the Slut-Shaming of Alisha Bailey…Again. We get it. Alisha was promiscuous. The writers made that pretty explicit when they gave her one of the worst superpowers ever. But to have Rudy (and Rudy 2) pop up with his (their) “Alisha” box* and call her “Cockmonster” in front of all of her friends and her boyfriend…really? Why are we going back there? It’s obvious that Rudy had unrealistic (and creeperish) expectations of his relationship with her. From what I gathered, he wasn’t on her radar then one day she showed him a little attention and BOOM, he’s in fucking love. Bruh bruh needed a reality check. I assume the ASBO 5—now 4— range in age from 20-22 (that’s just my guessimate) and I assume college-aged kids are about 16-18. So, Rudy and Alisha could have hooked up anywhere between 2-6 years ago. Why would that still be effecting Rudy enough the impact the manifestation of power? And no one put Rudy 2 in check. Curtis was like “….well, yeah…” and Simon just starred. SMH. But I can see why she apologized to him when and how she did. He had previously shared he wanted to kill himself over her and toss in a high-stress life-or-death situation, she apologized to save him. However, I don’t think she owed him shit. I don’t see why she would say “I hated myself for what I did to you,” when given the context it didn’t seem like they were even dating.
And for the rest of the show…
The New Powers
Simon has the best new power but I think I’m biased. Simon ismy favorite. Kelly’s power is cool if it weren’t used as a tool to shade her. Also, I don’t see how it’d be useful. Any power they gave Alisha would’ve been a million times better than the one she originally had but a human tracking device is kind of…meh. And Curtis’ power seems like it geared toward gender-swap fanfiction enthusiasts.
Rudy was a big thing because of Robert leaving. Honestly, I found him to be pretty okay prior to the bar incident. Rudy 2’s concern for Rudy’s health appealed to my germaphobic tendencies so I related to him on that level. He was also like Nathan-lite. He wasn’t as obnoxious as Nathan but he was still kind of a dick so he fit right in. But after the Cockmonster thing, I don’t know where I stand on the character. He has to do something to redeem himself.
*That Box-O-Feelings seems like something Snape would’ve had.
